Large scale 3D printed campus model

This page is the expanded overview of my 3D4E campus model project. The goal was to create an accurate, physical topographic model of the University of Utah campus for showcase presentation.

Project Focus: terrain generation, model cleanup, large scale printing, and presentation at a regional event.

How It Was Built

Event flyer for the 3D printed campus model showcase
  • Imported LiDAR data into Blender for terrain generation
  • Integrated official campus building models
  • Scaled and aligned structures for accurate placement
  • Prepared print ready geometry in slicing software
  • Produced the final model on a Modix 120X printer
